Originally known by the name Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium, Vidharba Cricket Association Ground gets its present name from M Chinnaswamy, who was once the President of the BCCI and the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium. Vidharba Cricket Association Ground was established in 1969. It got its first test match in 1974, when West Indies starred by cricketers like Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd toured India.
