The Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan is one of the biggest and most famous cricket grounds of Pakistan. It hosted its first Test match in 2001. The Test saw Pakistan beat Bangladesh by an innings and 264 runs. The stadium has regularly been hosting Tests after that and the last Test was held in 2005, when Pakistan beat England by 22 runs. Salman Butt was the star of the match by scoring a half century and a century in the two innings.
The stadium is also a very popular ODI venue and hosted ODIs since 2003. The first one day match played at the stadium was between Pakistan and Bangladesh, a match which Pakistan easily won. The last ODI to be played at the venue was between India and Pakistan. India won the match by five wickets.
The stadium is one of the bigger grounds in Pakistan and can seat around 30,000 spectators at a time. It has good facilities for the players, and the outfield is lush green giving the ground a very picturesque look.
