Full name Martin Lloyd Love Born 30 March 1974, Mundubbera, Queensland Major teams Australia, Queensland, Durham Batting style Right-hand bat Bowling style Right Arm off Break
A majestic batsman with the ability to play long innings, Martin Love has contributed many a times to Queensland's success ever since he debuted in 1992-'93. Having impressed one and all with his excellent batting skills, Love grabbed the attention of the Australian selectors when he hit two magnificent centuries against the touring English team in 2002-03.
When he donned the green baggy for the first time in the Boxing Day Test, he already had an average of 50 in domestic cricket to boast of. He played with ease and amassed 62 runs. However, he followed it up with a duck in Sydney. Unfortunately he lost his wicket on the first ball against Bangladesh and even a century at Cairns couldn't prevent his exit from the side after that, as with Damien Martyn's return to the squad, there was no place for Love.
