Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1955
Better known to many as the villain who denied Don Bradman his average of 100 by dismissing him for a duck, Eric Hollies was much more than that.
Eric Hollies was, in his prime, one of the best bowlers in England. Playing for Warwickshire, Eric Hollies took 100 wickets and above every year between 1935 and 1957, except for 1936 when inclement weather made it impossible for him to be at his best. Eric Hollies was named the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1955, after taking 100 wickets for the tenth time.
Eric Hollies played in only 13 matches and claimed 44 wickets. His 515 first-class matches fetched him 2323 wicketsat an average of 20.94.
