Hemchandra 'Hemu' Adhikari made his debut against the Australians at Brisbane in the late 1947.The match was remembered for a complete wash out of the Indians and for the brilliance of Sir Don Bradman. In the domestic circle, Hemu Adhikari was already a name to reckon with as a useful allrounder. In first class cricket Hemu Adhikari nearly reached 10,000 runs and missed 50 wickets mark by a single wicket.
