A useful allrounder, Karson Ghavri played for India in the mid 70s and 80s for India. Karson Ghavri could surprise the batsmen with his bouncers and frustrate them with his proper line and length.
Karson Ghavri gave some wonderful performances that enhanced his reputation as an important member of the Indian team. In 1978-79 series against the West Indies, Karson Ghavri emerged with 27 wickets. The next season, he played a match saving knock of 86 against Australia in Mumbai, the inning also featured a 127 runs eight-wicket stand partnership with Syed Kirmani. This remained his highest test score.
Karson Ghavri played in 39 test matches and scored 913 runs and took 109 wickets. He played in only 19 ODIs.
