As one of the best batsman Pakistan has ever produced, Saeed Anwar deservingly holds the world record for the highest score by an individual in an ODI-194 against India in 1997. He was an elegant batsman and played particularly well on the off side, his trademark flick being a sure shot feature in almost all of his innings. He had a better run in the shorter version of the game, having scored 8823 runs at an average of 39.21. He averaged over 55 in Tests. After a personal tragedy in which he lost his daughter in 2001, Saeed Anwar took a break from cricket. However when he returned in 2003, he had lost his touch and could not perform as he did before. He was criticized for the loss of form, and owing to the criticism, retired from the game soon. livescore.warofcricket.com provides the profile of Saeed Anwar and other cricketers around the world.
