Along with Matthew Hayden, he forms Australia's most successful-ever opening pair in Test history. At the start of the 2003/04 season they averaged 68.13 runs per opening stand from 24 matches together including nine hundred-plus stands and seven more partnerships of between 50 and 99. Captained Australia A on its one-day tour of South Africa at the start of the 2002/03 season and led the side to a 5-1 success. He also Captained Australia A to one-day wins against England and Sri Lanka in December 2002. |
