He proved his position in the Test scene in the 3 mobile Test series v West Indies 2005-06, after proving himself a prolific run gatherer in first class cricket both home and abroad.
Unable to build a strong innings in his debut match, he found his rhythm in the second Test and notched a maiden Test century in Hobart. That strong form continued as he crafted and at times bludgeoned his way to three Test centuries in his first five Tests. He was named man of the match in the 2005-06 Boxing Day Test.
He was also made 752 Pura Cup runs for the Warriors in 2003-04 at 41.77 and 426 runs at 60.85 in the ING Cup. A vital part of the Warriors' ING Cup-winning team of 2003-04.
Made a cool $200,000 for one shot when he connected with the ING sign in a day-night match against the NSW Blues in Perth during February 2002.
Has had stunning success in English county cricket at Northampton shire; he averaged 79 in the 2001 winter, 72 in 2002 and 89 in 2003.
